BELAIT DISTRICT, Thursday, 30 January 2025 - The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), in collaboration with the Belait District Office, has swiftly provided humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to flood-affected areas in the Belait District.
In response to the flooding, the CIMIC Section of the Third Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Forces (3Bn RBLF) was deployed to assist in the transportation of Panaga Primary School teachers from the Belait District Office to the school premises. Furthermore, RBAF personnel aided the teachers in salvaging and organising undamaged school books.
This initiative underscores the 'Hearts and Minds' approach adopted by the RBAF, which aims to strengthen relationships and build trust with local communities, particularly those affected by natural disasters across all four districts. The RBLF remains committed to working alongside the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) and other relevant agencies to uphold a Whole-of-Nation Approach to disaster response.
As weather conditions in Brunei Darussalam remains active and continue to pose risks, such as flash floods and landslides, the RBAF reaffirms its readiness to provide disaster relief support to the public in these challenging times.
SEKSYEN CIVIL MILITARY COOPERATION (CIMIC) BATALION KETIGA TENTERA DARAT DIRAJA BRUNEI MENGHULURKAN BANTUAN KEMANUSIAAN DAN BENCANA ALAM DI DAERAH BELAIT
DAERAH BELAIT, KHAMIS, 30 Januari 2025 – Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB), dengan kerjasama Pejabat Daerah Belait, telah dengan cepat memberikan bantuan kemanusiaan dan bencana alam kepada kawasan yang terjejas oleh banjir di Daerah Belait.
Sebagai respons kepada banjir tersebut, Seksyen CIMIC dari Batalion Ketiga Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (3Bn TDDB) telah dikerahkan untuk membantu dalam pengangkutan guru-guru Sekolah Rendah Panaga dari Pejabat Daerah Belait ke premis Sekolah Rendah Panaga. Selain itu, anggota 3Bn TDDB turut membantu guru-guru dalam menyelamatkan dan mengatur buku sekolah yang tidak rosak oleh banjir.
Inisiatif ini menekankan pendekatan 'Hearts and Minds' yang diterima pakai oleh ABDB, yang bertujuan untuk mengukuhkan hubungan dan membina kepercayaan dengan komuniti setempat, terutamanya mereka yang terjejas oleh bencana alam di keempat-empat daerah. TDDB juga akan tetap komited untuk bekerjasama dengan Pusat Pengurusan Bencana Kebangsaan (NDMC) dan agensi-agensi berkaitan lain dalam mendukung Pendekatan Seluruh-Negara (Whole-of-Nation Approach) dalam respons terhadap bencana.
Memandangkan keadaan cuaca di Negara Brunei Darussalam masih aktif dan akan terus menimbulkan risiko, seperti banjir kilat dan tanah runtuh, ABDB akan senantiasa bersiapsiaga dalam menghulurkan bantuan kemanusiaan dan bencana alam kepada masyarakat awam dalam waktu yang mencabar ini.
